Patagonia R2® Yulex® Gloves

Less CO2 emissions and more comfort

Cold water draws heat from the body, hands and feet cool quickly. Dexterity is lost, which limits performance in surfing and kitesurfing.
Patagonia R2® Yulex® gloves keep hands warm and flexible during surfing. The 2 mm thick elastic gloves consist of 85% Yulex® natural rubber and 15% chlorine free synthetic rubber. For a better grip, the interior is textured, fully external seams and micro-seal prevent water from entering. All seams are triple glued.
Warming gloves for surfers sustainably produced
Yulex® rubber comes from Hevea trees, which produce the natural material for about 30 years. Raw material sources are certified by the Rainforest Alliance Forest Stewardship Council®. This means that trees do not grow in areas of felled rainforest. The use of natural rubber instead of neoprene saves around 80% of CO2 emissions during production.
The production took place in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory. For fair working conditions, Patagonia pays more for the production, the additional money flows directly to the factory workers. The program also promotes the health and safety of employees at work.
